A great vintage Socrates cigar box with a portrait of FDR, from the 1932 election. The box is covered in gold foil with the factory label on the bottom and Socrates label on the interior. I'm not sure the rarity of these particular boxes, but I could only find one other example.
Measures 7" by 6" and is 1 3/8" deep (when closed).
The condition is very good. The box itself is intact and opens and closes fine. The interior is virtually like new. There is very little wear on the exterior, a bit of water stain on the bottom label and a couple minor wrinkles to the FDR portrait, otherwise fine. A nice example.Satisfaction Guaranteed!
