Postmarked Losenstein 25 August 1908 to Schonbrunner Strasse, Vienna.This is the ORIGINAL jubilaum correspondence card published to commemorate Emperor Franz Josef’s 60th year on the throne; it is NOT the reprint published during WWI. Franz Josef is best known as the husband of Empress Elizabeth, “the Princess Diana of her day.” She was assassinated in 1898 and their son Rudolph died in 1889 in a murder/suicide pact. Franz Josef carried his grief for the rest of his life, you can see it in his face here.

CONDITION: Corners rubbed, light smudge on back and lower left edge; otherwise in excellent condition for a posted card. Please check the condition of each item using the photo magnifier; zoom in and enlarge. All cards are original, vintage and/or antique unless otherwise noted. They have normal wear common to all old postcards. Every card is kept sleeved in a smoke-free environment.

TRACKING: standard envelope tracking may label items as "delivered" when they reach a hub or your local post office. “Destination Processing” means that your item has reached a Central Processing Facility near your home and is being processed for delivery.
