Wonderful photo album of Smith and Hayward party trip through Florida March 10th to 30th 1898.

This album has 57 cyanotype photos with their trip starting in Jacksonville on the St John’s river where they then make their way to Palatka. The party seems to go on steam tug Metamora on the Ocklawaha river near Palatka with many photos of ship and river scenes. Next stop is Ocala and then they are on to Tampa. There are 9 photos featuring various view of the famous Tampa Bay Hotel. There are also pictures of the casino at the hotel and the grounds. There is also a lovely group photo of the party on the Tampa Bay hotel’s steps. After hotel photos there are some of port Tampa with ships before the party moved on to Hotel Seminole Winter Park. The last destination is St Augustine. This portion of album features photos of hotel Alcaza and Ponce de Leon. There are many street scenes and a photo of the old gate and fort.

This album is a gem and offers a wonderful glimpse into an epic Victorian vacation in Old Florida!

Album is in good condition for age with wear along edges from handling. The photos are glued along one edge so that one can flip and read descriptions on back. The old fort photo in St Augustine has come loose. There is discoloration thought book as pictured.
