Victorian 1880\'s Crazy Quilt Runner - AMAZING Embroidery, Painted Pieces:

This runner dates to the 1880s and is constructed of a greenish wool material with crazy quilting at one end and fantastic embroidered ferns, flowers and a butterfly at the other end. It is lined with cotton. It was most likely made in the 1880s since it was purchased with the mantel scarf I have listed this week which is dated 1887-1888 and is made of the same materials. It has chenille dangling trim at one end and brass metal dangling trim at the other. One of the brass dangling pieces is missing. There are a couple of small spots of fade to the wool, but nothing really terrible. It is structurally in excellent condition. It measures 63\" long by 16 1/2 inches wide. I have made no attempt at cleaning or repairing it and will leave this to the new owner. I acquired this, along with another crazy quilt mantel scarf at the same estate sale as much of the vintage clothing I have listed this week.
