Badge of the Cosmonaut Training Center --- Rare badgeCreated on January 11, 1960 in Star City as the First Cosmonaut Detachment of the USSR. At the end of the 1960s, the center was named after Yuri Gagarin in memory of the planet\'s first cosmonaut.
In 1995, by Resolution No. 478 of May 15, 1995, based on the Law of Yu.A. Gagarin and the 70th OITAPON (separate test and training special purpose aviation regiment, based at the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow) State Research Testing Center for Cosmonaut Training named after Yu. A. Gagarin (RGNII TsTK named after Yu. A. Gagarin).
From its creation until 1991, the Center was under the jurisdiction of the USSR Ministry of Defense.
