Rare opportunity, Original Atomic age, Vintage 1950s US Air Force pilot type K-1 High Altitude flight helmet. Complete except for the face plate (most have been destroyed by the US Government when they have been sold to prevent suffocation accidents). Helmet has plenty of Patina and in remarkably good shape considering its 70 years old… The Pressurized inner lining has dry rotted but still intact…The outer liner is in great shape..Inside headset and mic are still present…Outside Helmet in good condition with no breakage or cracking.. . These helmets were used with experimental projects but also several jet aircrafts form the 50's like the F-104 Starfighter, F-100 Supersabre, B-47, B-36, U2 etc...
