Very Rare Helios Typewriter - Antique Typewriter:

This is a very rare and desirable Helios typewriter, manufactured in Germany pre 1910. Serial number 7756 as shown. This particular machine has been in my personal collection for a few years. It\'s provenance is that of the very famous Clark collection, and if you search the listing of this collection in ETCetera magazine (issue 23 in 1993), you will see this specific machine listed. The Helios is more scarce than other variants of this machine (Helios Klimax/Ultima). It uses a unique 4 row shuttle and triple shift key to operate. It\'s the only machine like this that was ever made. It\'s surprisingly small and displays very well.

As for function, it does work. Keys strike the platen and the carriage advances nicely. I believe one key might need a little help in striking the platen, but all others work just fine. It\'s not an ideal candidate for actual daily use, but it\'s incredibly fun to watch this machine in action. The spool nut on the left side is gone the threads on this side look to have sheared off at some time, so you would have to do a repair to get a spool nut on it

I am very well versed in shipping typewriters, and have done so for years. I do not warranty this machine, as it\'s over 110 years old and is primarily a display antique.
