Here is a rare opportunity to obtain brand new, mint T-shirts from the debut of the first original retail Apple Stores. On May 19, 2001, in a bold move amidst ridicule by many, Apple opened its first two retail stores. Store #001 was the Glendale Galleria in California, but because of the three hour time difference from the East Coast, the Tysons Corner store in Viginia was technically actually the first store to open. No matter, since I am offering the opening day T-shirts for EACH of the two opening day debut stores.
From day one, Apple established the tradition of giving away free souvenir T-shirts (size XL) to the first people in line to enter a new store, each in its own clear plastic tube. Back in 2001, the number of T-shirts was limited to 1000 for each store and most of those were worn, washed, torn, etc. over the years. To find launch day T-shirts which have NEVER been opened is a near impossibility. And now, for the consummate collector, here are BOTH debut Apple Store opening day T-shirts in MINT condition. These have never been opened and have remained in their original clear tubes, which are also in mint condition.
Once mocked by analysts as a venture bound to fail, it\'s no secret now that the Apple stores are one of the most successful retail projects in business history, generating more revenue per square foot than any other retailer.
