Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev (1831 -1905) St. Petersburg, Russia. The artist was the main competitor to E. Lanceray. Both of them together made a realy great input to the Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other during the period of 1873 – 1886. He cast all his works at Woerffel foundry.Recently found at a very high end estate sale. Large bronze sculpture that weighs about 20 pounds. 9 inches high, and 5 inches wide, and 8 inches from head to tail. Beautifully done and signed by the artist in Russian Cyrillic. Also the foundry is marked clearly"Woerffel"and it is the only foundry that Vassily GRACHEV used.
