RareVintage Wedgwood Vassar College CommemorativePlate - made in England.This transferware platemeasuresapproximately 10 1/4" inches across, and has an ivory backgroundwith dark red images. The plate hasa decorative border with a centralimagefeaturing the original Observatory on the Vassar College campus.The back ofthis plate carries themanufacturer'smark: "Vassar College 1929 -- The Observatory -- Wedgwood - Etruria, England -- Sole Importers - Jones, McDuffee & Stratton, Boston". The Wedgwood impressions/ incisions are also present.

Thisplate was part of a large Wedgwood collection that was carefully stored away for many years, and it is inextremely goodcondition - there are no chips, cracks, stains, repairs ormarks anywhere on this item. Typical of antique china, the plate shows minor, light crazing in the clear coat glaze, but it is extremely faint and barely visible - Most viewers would not even notice it.
