Up for sale is this rare vintage menu from Union Steamships Alaska Cruise Ship of Vancouver, Canada called the “S.S. CHILCOTIN,” and dated November 21st, 1951.

The front has a beautiful colored graphic of the ship on majestic waters and with snow-covered mountains in the background. Nice advertising graphics on the interior and back as well, showcasing the British Columbia map and various views from the ship, including Gardner Canal, Grenville Channel, and “relaxation amidst the scenic charm.”

The dinner menu is paperclipped to piece and features quite a feast of multiple courses including:

- Cream of Mushroom Soup

- Fried Silver Melts with Tartar Sauce

- Cottage Cheese and Pineapple Salad

- Old Fashioned Steak and Mushroom Pie

- Diced Ham Omelette

- Roast Prime Rib of Beef au Jus

- Roast Leg of Pork with Apple Sauce

- Steamed or Mashed Potatoes

- Creamed Corn

- Baked Apricot Pudding with Custard Sauce

- Lemon Meringue Pie

- Wine Jello with Whipped Cream

Back then, you were pretty fancy if you could travel on a cruise like this and the food seems to be quite good with so many options!

Such interesting menu choices back then - a time capsule of food history.

A great original cruise advertising menu that is complete and in excellent original condition for its age, being over 70 years old!!!

Measures 9.7” inches tall by 5.75” inches wide when folded, but 11.5” inches wide when unfolded.
