This is a VTG Hand Painted Oval Shaker Style Wood Feline Folk Art Box. (Now try saying that 3x fast!) Box measures approximately 7" L x 2.5" H x 5.75" W. Thin wood box is painted a dark teal with green, blue, pink, and black accents. The twin cats on the top are pink with ring-tails while the flowers that run around the sides of the box are pink, blue, and green. Is the Pennsylvania Dutch folk art actually hand-painted? I'm not certain. The cats feel more like a sticker that was hand-made with the artwork and added onto the box. Still, someone painted these adorable pink cats! The paint on the top of the box shows some scratches/cracking (see photos), and the "rivets" that hold the box together do not line-up perfectly. But that's part of being a handmade OOAK original, right? And the box smells like candy - which is NEVER a flaw!
