Condition - Appears unused, not a mark inside; no chips, cracks, stains, repairs, or crazing; there is a little divot on the top of the lid that is a manufactured flaw as the glaze goes over it (see last picture); bottom where it sits is slightly rough with some discoloration; on the lid where you hold the top it is a bit rough; some specks of platinum are flecked off.
This is a Vintage Sugar Bowl and Creamer by Homer Laughlin in an unnamed pattern known as 5 Platinum Bands on an Ivory body , made between 1936-1955. I have seen it named N1539. This one is marked H49N5 indicating it was made in 1949. It measures 2.75” in height without the lid on; with the lid on it stands 4.25”; it is 6.5” end to end; the outer diameter at the top is 3 7/8”; the depth is 2.5”. This is a beautiful addition to your collection - I also have the matching Creamer listed separately.Please enlarge and examine all photos to complete the description.
