The 1980s was an era of tremendous growth and change in all areas - science, technology, politics, pop culture, and art. It was the era of Saturday morning cartoons, Polaroids, mullets, shoulder pads, Ray-Bans, The Breakfast Club. MTV was launched and we were in the golden age of hiphop.

And from about 1970 to 1990, Postmodernism shattered established ideas about art and design and brought a new awareness about style itself. The dominant look of the 1980s, the “designer decade,” ranged from the ludicrous to the luxurious. It was visually thrilling and everything was a style statement.

These spectacular Post Modern ceramic lamps embody the attention stealing, luxe aesthetic of its time. Substantial, swooping, iridescent, shimmery glazed ceramic curves into a heart shape with a double loop at the top. Light glows from the globes nestled within. An inline switch turns these on and off. A stunning matched pair in excellent condition.
