VTG 1960s 'Satellite' Rocket Ship Mechanical Bank! This piece was made by Duro Mold Manufacturing for the Southeast State Bank in Kansas City, Missouri. Shaped like a space rocket on top of a globe! You pull down the lever place a coin in the slot and press the button and the coin is flung into the bank. The lever is in the shape of an airplane! the key is missing but can be opened with a screw driver.
The base reads "Watch Your Savings Soar", "Southeast State Bank Kansas City, Missouri", "Member F.D.I.C."Underneath the base it reads "Duro Mold and MFG Inc. Detroit 34 Mich. Pat. Pending U.S.A and Canada." It also says "The Satellite Bank." Made of Zinc alloy, chrome, plastic, pigment.It does have some issues, such as scratches and wear to the finish. Under the base, it would have had a rectangular plate with a lock, where you would use a key to open the bank. That plate is missing, so it has an open rectangle underneath. Measurements are 10" height, 3.45" base diameter, and weighs 1 lb. Please see all photos for more up close detail on condition!
