VINTAGE WINNEBAGO FOOTED BASKET / BASSWOOD 11\" x 7 1/2\":

VINTAGE HANDMADE WINNEBAGO NATIVE AMERICAN BASKET woven with 8 ROLLED FEET.   This BEAUTIFUL FIND is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and is made of BASSWOOD with a BEAUTIFUL WOOD PATINA.  It measures about 7 1/2" HIGH by about 11" WIDE and shows it's HANDWOVEN NATURE by tilting slightly forward. The piece sits level. The WINNEBAGO TRIBE 'S ANCESTRAL LANDS were in CENTRAL WISCONSIN and ILLINOIS. They gave up their territory to the UNITED STATES in 1816 and SETTLED in IOWA, MINNESOTA, SOUTH DAKOTA and NEBRASKA.  This basket combined WONDERFUL FORM with EVERYDAY FUNCTION. It came from the ESTATE of an ANTIQUE DEALERS COLLECTION that was put in storage in the 1970's. Shipping, packing and tracking is a flat rate of $14.95 in the United States.
