Vintage Lido de Paris Top Hat Souvenir AshtrayAdvertising Moet & Chandon Champagne
You are offerding on a Vintage Ashtray from the famed nightclub Lido de Paris and advertising Moet and Chandon Champagne.
The black ashtray is designed in the shape of a dashing top hat featuring on one side a lovely, long-legged cabaret dancer beside the wording, "Lido de Paris" in gold lettering. The underside brim of the hat reads "Lido" on one side and promotes "Moet & Chandon" champagne on the other and features two cigarette rests.
The ashtray is in lovely condition, although there is a bit of fading to some of the gold lettering. It is still nice and glossy and looks as if it has never been used.
The Lido de Paris opened in 1946 and created the concept of dinner-and-a-show. Patrons were treated to a delicious meal complete with champagne before seeing a cabaret-style show featuring long-stemmed dancers performing in a whirlwind of feathers and sequins, topped by royal head carriages. Some of the famous names performing there include Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, Josephine Baker, Shirley MacLain, Juliet Prowse, Eartha Kitt, Marlene Dietrich, Elton John, and many more!
