VINTAGE ISRAEL SILVER 925 BROOCH / PENDANT GREEN EILAT STONE. The rare eilat stone is Israel\'s national stone, named after Israel\'s southernmost city where it was discovered centuries ago near the Red Sea in the copper mines of King Solomon. This stone is becoming difficult to find due to the mine flooding and the designation as a national park and archeological site. According to my research, supplies are dwindling and prices are climbing. Eilat is usually cut in the cabachon style to show the beautiful patterns and swirls of malachite and turquoise in the stone. Eilat is a cousin of turquoise and should be cared for in the same manner. This brooch is 1 1/2\" long and 1 1/4\" wide with a large bale to fit most chains. Shipped USPS First Class.
