VINTAGE GUATEMALA HAND CARVED BULL MASK

This hand carved and painted piece of folk art is from Guatemala. It is a ceremonial mask of a bull which symbolizes power and fertility in Spanish Culture.

Mask dimensions are:13” long x 9” wide

It is in good vintage condition with a few paint scrapes on the nose. The original(?) string straps are still attached. One of the bulls horns is carved wood, the other is an actual horn. The nails that attach the horns protrude slightly to the back of the mask. The mask has been carved from a heavy dense wood.
