Wonderful Vintage German Snowman Candy Container features: a tomato red felt cap; painted facial features with black plastic eyes; cute carrot nose; tomato red felt scarf around neck; attached twig in right arm; felt black buttons
Made of a cardboard covered with plaster
Body Covered in Venetian Dew
Figure comes apart in the middle to reveal a secret compartment for notes, candy, small gifts, jewelry, etc
Stamped inside of one foot, ‘Germany US Zone’, circa 1945-1955
Snowman measures approximately 6.25” tall (not counting stick) x 3” wide, opening for candy container is 2.75” wide
Wear consistent with age: missing Venetian Dew beads; ‘Walter’ written inside one foot; crack inside one foot; hairline crack down side of head; nose may have been reglued
