Absolutely spectacular example of a handworked antique French embroidered linen sheet. The amount of work and hours that some girl spent making this exquisite creation for her trousseau is difficult to imagine. Every single stitch is handworked. The sheet is made from a fine quality pure linen and is enormous. Normally these sheets have some embroidery in the centre of the fold over. This one is embroidered the entire way across and around the corners so that from every angle it looks exquisite. The fold over alone is 80 cm and with all the cutwork you can imagine how it would look forwarded over a contrasting colour bedspread!

It is in wonderful condition and bright white. It measures 228 cm wide by 321 cm long. A heirloom piece to be treasured. If you have not experienced the joy of sleeping in antique linen sheets, you have not lived! There is simply no comparison to the thin sheets of today regardless of how expensive they are or what the thread count is. This sheet weighs almost 2 kg.
