(I\'m always willing to consider reasonable offers).,,This vintage ceramic round ashtray has hunting dogs around the rim, and a castle in the middle.
It is speckled cream with a dark rim around the smooth edge.
It is 5 1/4\" diameter.
The bottom stamp says: Wedgwood & Co LD England Made in England
Maker\'s mark has a drawing of a unicorn.The number 15 is etched into the bottom.
It was made by Enoch Wedgwood, manufactured at the Unicorn Pottery and Pinnox Works in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England, probably after 1908.Enoch was an English potter, founder in 1860 of the pottery firm Wedgwood & Co of Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.
He was a distant cousin of the famous potter Josiah Wedgwood, of Josiah Wedgwood & Sons but their two businesses were separate concerns.
Preowned in great vintage condition. There is a visible thin crack in the glaze over the castle. Cannot be felt with fingernail. No crazing. No chips. See photos.
