For sale is this MCM Yellow Lion Planter in very good vintage condition, no original box.
This cute lion mustard colored glazed planter has a quizzical face and is wearing sneakers.The planter is from the 1940s and is marked with “NM” (Nelson McCoy).
It features beautiful mustard yellow coloring and intricate detailing on the lion and base of the planter. There is a glossy glaze overall which adds to its appeal.
This planter would be perfect for succulents or other small plants, as part of a garden scene, or could be used as a holder for buttons, pens, coins, pins, etc.
The piece is marked "NM" with the copyright symbol at the back of the tail.
No chips, scratches or repairs, but there is some age-related crazing which is most noticeable on the inside.
The planter measures 3.75 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 3.25 inches tall with a 2 1/8-inch diameter opening on top.
Weighs 9 ounces empty.
