FEATURED IS A VINTAGE CIRCA 1938 POSTCARD OF THE DECO STYLE COFFEE SHOP AND/OR CLUB CAR ABOARD THE \"BLUE BIRD\" ... THE WABASH RAILWAY\'S NEW DOME STREAMLINER COACH TRAIN WHICH BEGAN SERVICE THAT SAME YEAR. FYI: The last day of service for the \"Blue Bird\" was April 30, 1971. I remember feeling so grown up when, traveling by train, I was actually able to sit and enjoy the ambience of a \"club car\". Whenever I do see ashtrays like those pictured ... that simply scream \"deco\" ... I do pick them up!

It has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company\'s records, having served in that capacity since 1982.
