I am listing a group of various nice Antique & Vintage Items and Artwork this Here is a RARE 1931 "FELIX" THE CAT HARDCOVER COMIC BOOK #1 Published by the HENRY ALTEMUS COMPANY. Philadelphia. It is the rare Earliest Edition of Book #1 with 16 cardboard leafs (32 pages) and no extra publisher's note referring to Book #2 on last page. Book is 8-5/16" x 6-1/4". This Henry Altemus hardcover Felix series is one of the rarest series. This 1st edition of Book #1 appears to be particularly hard to find. Condition: Condition is as you see it. Written very heavily in pencil on front cover is "Book No.1" by original owner. Front end paper with original owner's 1932 birthday gift notation in ink from a father to daughter "From Tupper Lake, N.Y. to my Daughter Carmela for her Birthday 1932. Daddy". No other writing in book. The spine cover is completely missing. The first endpaper leaf is separated from binding with a tear-hole spot in top half of leaf. The rear endpaper leaf with missing pieces at inner edge. My photos show most of the interior pages including the worst looking pages. Will box with care for buyer.
