Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this very rare 1867 Sterling silver hallmarked Asprey166 Bond Street London Coromandel wood vanity dressing table box.

A very rare and high-quality collectable piece, thebox is solid Coromandel wood with brass edges, it’s a lovely dark timber with asimilar grain to Rosewood. The suite inside is all sterling silver, fullyhallmarked T.W for Thomas Whitehouse, the Queens head for Queen Victoria, thesideways facing Lion for Sterling silver, the Panther head for London and thedate letter M for 1867.

The box has Braham locks which were of such highquality Gillows of Lancaster an London used them on their finest furniture, atthe back of the base section you have a hand engraved plaque which reads AspreyMaker 166 Bond Street London, in the middle of this plaque is a depressionswitch, if you press it a hidden drawer pops out of the bottom. The listingincludes the original key.

The mirror pulls forward to reveal a hiddendocument folio, this little box is full of surprises.

In terms of the condition it’s in good period orderthroughout, there are some very light age related timber shrinkage lines on thetop and sides, the nail file and little knife blades are broken, the mother ofpearl handles are all in fine order throughout.

We have long term storage which is very economically priced, we arehappy to hold stock for as long as needed providing it is arranged prior to thepurchase

If sold items aren’t collected within three monthsand no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit theitem and payment

For European deliveries the price you will bequoted will include all clearance documentation and any customs charges sothere won’t be any additional fees

For international deliveries such as the UnitedStates there can be some import duty to pay and or a clearance fee, I wouldestimate that 99% of all deliveries clear customs without being stopped foreither

All duties are the responsibility of the purchaserwho is the importer, they can’t be covered by the seller or shipping agent orfactored in with additional retrospective discounts

RETURNS

Royal House Antiques offers a no quibble returnpolicy if the item is not as described, if there are any issues with the pieceyou will be refunded in full once the item has been returned and inspectedwithin 14 days, alternatively if there is a small issue, we can discuss findinga mutual resolution that makes all parties happy

We don’t offer a sale on approval service whichmeans you can purchase the item, have it delivered and if you simply don’t likeit, return it, this comes under change of mind or doesn’t fit.
