This is an excellent thumbnail from this old time location. The abandoned workings at the Old Yuma were like a training ground for many of Arizona\'s premier mineralogists and collectors a number of decades ago. Being too close to the suburban expansion of Tucson, the mine was reclaimed years ago.

This specimen features a thumbnail specimen rich withterminated red crystals of vanadinite on matrix. The crystals are well formed barrel shaped hexagonals that are slightly translucent and gemmy.

The Mineralogical Record Vol. 14, No. 2 (1983) has a great article on this mine. (and some super wulfenite photos.)

This specimen will be shipped mounted in its plastic display (perky) box. Permanent mounting complicates its removal.
