3 Rare University of South Carolina Wedgwood CommemorativePlates - made in England. These transferware plates measure approximately 10\" inches across, and have an ivory backgroundwith underglaze images. The plates feature various historic buildings and scenes on the University of South Carolina campus. 2 of the plates feature green images, and 1 plate features black/gray images. The backs of the plates carry the name each view depicted, along with the manufacturer\'smark: \"University of South Carolina -- Wedgwood Of Etruria & Barlaston - Made in England -- Engraved By The Wedgwood Studios\". The Wedgwood impression/incision is also present. The following plates are included: - Lieber College (Green images)
- Sims College (Green images - minor crazing, only on back)
- DeSaussure College (Black/Gray images)
These plates were part of a large Wedgwood collection that was carefully stored away for many years, and they are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, stains, marks or repairs on any of these plates. Back of the Sims College plate has a small spot of crazing that is barely visible, but there is none at all on the other plates. Any reflection, distortion or shadow in the photos is the result of camera and lighting issues.
