This 1921 yearbook from the University of Minnesota is both in excellent condition and is very well executed. The editing shows both expertise and a sophistication. For the time period, good attention is paid to both women's sports and activities although the male "privilege" is apparent, which is understandable during the time a brutal world war was being waged.
Although the editors appear to have attempted to ignore World War I, its presence is apparent throughout the volume, from the section on the Military activities in the curriculum to the absence of the expected percentage of men to women in the graduating class. The sports sections are impressive and the art work is very good and emblematic for the styles of the period.
This is a yearbook that was well planned and well done. Even if one did not attend the University of Minnesota, reading through this yearbook will give one good veiw of both the historic period and this specific university.Please see our photos.
