Mr. David Baldwin was the 16th generation of sea captains going back to the whaling days. He served in the Merchant Marine during WWII and began working at United States Lines in 1952. He was charged with outfitting the food and hotel service onboard the S.S. United States and was onboard for her record breaking maiden voyage.
