Antique Bronze Southern Cross of Honor that hang from a top bar with pin on the back. Maltese cross has a laurel wreath in the center with a Confederate flag, the arms of the cross have “UNITED DAUGHTERS CONFEDERACY TO THE U.C.V.” The back of the cross has another laurel wreath at center with “DEO VINDICE 1861” over “1865.” The wording around the cross reads “SOUTHERN CROSS OF HONOR.” Made by Charles W. Crankshaw in Atlanta, GA The medal is in good condition, there is some green verdigris in places. The only condition issue I saw was the top bar looks like it's been bent a little, but you have to hold it sideways to see it. The Southern Cross of Honor was a commemorative medal created in 1899 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to honor Confederate Veterans.
