WW2 USMC Map Case - Dated 1943Condition: Excellent, with no holes, tears, or other damage. There is some fraying around the snap posts, but they are still firmly attached. All hardware is present, as well as the original shoulder strap which is often missing from these cases. There is some fading, staining and edge ware at the corners where the backer board ends. The bag is named \"Lt. L. Thomas H. Co. 3/9\". There is a set of maps of Okinawa in the case, although they have arial dates of 1948/1949 and are postwar. I\'m thinking the case was used during the war and then kept in service for years after for the occupation of Japan.
The case is marked and dated on the back: Boyt 1943. It would have carried maps, specialized pencils, and other associated equipment. These original WW2 USMC map cases are very difficult to find, especially in this shape, so don\'t miss out on this one!!
