The US Marine Corps never officially adopted the Army's M-56 web gear, and continued to experiment with its own designs. The USMC M-61 "multi-snap" pistol belt could accommodate several 7.62 NATO ammo pouches, and was widely used by Leathernecks in Vietnam. This USMC Marine US Vietnam M-61 MULTI-SNAP AMMO PISTOL BELT is in good condition, with some fraying around most of the sizing grommets throughout, some whitish soiling at the right front, moderate fading to the "U.S." marking at the left front, the nomenclature stamping at the interior left front having long since faded away, some fading to the size marking at the interior right front, some scattered whitish, brownish, and dark spot soiling throughout, and with some overall fading and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the belt is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough OD canvas construction. Most interestingly, it's faintly "U.S." stamped at the left front, boasts a fully functional darkened brass front buckle, and sports all 11 of the original darkened brass "female" snaps throughout. It's marked "M" for Size Medium at the interior right front, features both of the original "stepped" darkened brass sizing keepers, and is a fine example of a rare, original USMC Marine US Vietnam M-61 MULTI-SNAP AMMO PISTOL BELT.
