For sale here is a pretty special US WW1 Cavalry Belt Rig. The rig includes an M1912 Rimmed Eagle Snap Pistol Belt with integrated Saber Hanger Loop, An RIA(Rock Island Arsenal) marked 1910 dated First Aid Pouch, a Bauer & Black marked 1916 dated unopened Carlisle Bandage tin, and a holy grail 1914 M1911 Mills Experimental Canvas Holster. The entire rig shows a lot of wear, and isn\'t quite salty, but has a great worn look.

The belt features all brass hardware. The eagle snap is rimmed and is Mills marked on the back. The grommets all show age, wear, and patina, but they are all present and solid. The belt has 1 brass slide keeper that also shows patina and wear. The buckle pieces are both darkened brass, and they show some finish loss and wear. The belt end shows darkened finish loss and patina. The end is marked made by Mills on one side and the other side has a Mills patent dates of January 29, 1901 and July 16, 1907. The saber hanger loops still swivels and is missing most of its finish to the inside and some on the outside. The canvas is all solid with no fraying or damage, but it shows soiling, age, wear, and some light staining.

The first aid pouch is an early one. It is made of khaki canvas and has a handwritten number of 7 on the back. The front of the pouch has two small blackened brass snaps that show some finish loss and patina. The snaps work as they should and have small nipples and female grommets inside. The snaps work as they should. The pouch is marked R.I.A, and is dated 1910, and the letter M is stamped underneath. The bandage tin is made of brass and shows use, age, wear, rust to the steel pull ring, paint fading, and paint loss. It is unopened and original, and it is dated 1916.

The holster is in similar worn condition as the rest of the rig. The holster is made of dark khaki, or even green canvas. The canvas is solid, strong, and substantial, but it does show heavy soiling and wear. That being said, it isn\'t fragile, and could certainly be worn, carried, or displayed with no worries. It features a functional round lift the dot type snap that has lost pretty much all of the darkening, but has a mellow patina. It has a functional upper swivel that appears to be darkened brass. It has some finish loss and some surface corrosion. The holster has a riveted brass tip with drain hole that shows wear to the darkened finish with good patina underneath. The bottom of the tip is marked with the Mills Bullet logo over Patented Jun 16, \'14, Jun 30, \'14, Sept 15, \'14. The holster also has a double riveted raised brass buckle on the back that shows similar wear to the brass. Inside, the holster has what appears to be a thick felt bumper for the pistol. The holster has two rivets at the top of the trigger guard area and two that hold it to the swivel hanger. All of these rivets are in place, and they show patina/wear/corrosion. The belt hook is made of brass, and it shows use, age, wear, and patina. Under the flap, the canvas is stamped with the Mills Bullet logo.

Salty? Maybe. Worn? Definitely. A rare rig in worn condition that will make for an excellent combat display.
