The 5th Armored Corps, also known as the Fifth United States Army, was a corps-level command of the United States Army that saw service during World War II and the Cold War era.

During World War II, the Fifth United States Army was activated on 5 January 1943, as one of the main commands of the U.S. Army during the Italian Campaign. It played a significant role in the liberation of Italy, including the amphibious assault at Anzio and the battles at Monte Cassino.

After World War II, the Fifth United States Army was reactivated as a peacetime army command. During the Cold War, it served as a training and readiness command for Army forces in the southern United States.

The Fifth United States Army was inactivated in 1971 and its responsibilities were transferred to the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).
