The Solomon Islands...the place of legends. Guadalcanal, which is where this beauty was found, was the center of the war for the Pacific during WW2, was where President Kennedy became a hero, and is still today a place that shell collectors dream of visiting, especially since it was there in the Solomons that some lucky guy went snorkeling one day and came back in with a half dozen gloriamaris cones for his troubles! Anyhow, I've often day-dreamed of visiting the Solomons some day, but until then, I'd better get back to work talking about this shell from the collection that was put together by a master. Rarely offered, this baby is a gorgeous shell---all white, from the top of its dorsum to its well calloused base and teeth, this mature, near-Gem beauty is arareshell that will lookterrificsitting on your shelf!
