Cap screws on & off easily, has typical scratches and small dings, see photos. Comes with WWI era standard issue insulatedcover in good usedcondition & hanger for attaching to web belt. There are no seams on the sides or bottom of the canteen. There is no date ormfg.on the canteen for prior to 1918 they were not dated or had any mfg. markings on them.This style was only madefor afew years, beforechanging tothe manufacturing procedure with the welded sides. This change was a cost cuttingdecision. The early Spun Canteensare quite RARE,especiallyin nice condition.The canteen capis the later version dome typeas there were often issues with the earlier flat type caps.Cover exterior ismarked withthe stamped \"US\"on thefront and has \"R.T.\" stamped on the inside of the flap.
