Tucson Arizona Territory Work Receipt 1877 Signed HQ Department Boston, Massachusetts G A R 1882 These documentsare in good condition, being yellowed from age, especially at some edges. The documentshave been in a document stapled protector.There is a crease worn throughthe center of both documents where it was folded years ago. Always refer to the photos prior to offerding, thanks. The Receipt of Work Bill is theOne of the documents that isa lined ledger piece of paper with faint red & blue lines. It is headed with a # 120 and all written in black ink pen, starting with: Tucson A.T., March 15 1877, then,Bill of work, itemized with dollar figures to the right of each item of the 11 items, for a total of $269.87. The Work Bill document measures 5 5/8 x 7 1/8 inches, and was folded twice horizontally. Heading is printed on the blue paper:Headquarters Department of Mass., G. A. R., 53 Tremont Street, Room3. Boston, Juyly 18th 1882. Received of A.A. Smith. Quartermaster, Post No. 20 of $2.00 dollars, Department Dues for 25 Members for Second, Quarter, 1882, signed in blackink by James F. Meech, A.A.G.and still looksvery crisp. Handwritten areas of names and items are in black ink. Signature and date is very legible, written in fountain pen ink.
