Triceratops bone fossil in great display case with cool new toy.

This Triceratops bone fossil was found on East of Glendive, Montana on the famous Hell Creek Formation.

The fossil is about 1 3/4\" x 1/2\".

I\'m not sure which part of the Triceratops this bone comes from.

The bone seems to have been found in 2 pieces and has been restored.

Display case has a small scratch or scuff in the plastic.

Fossil comes in display case and includes a laminated information card.

Also included is a Triceratops toy to display next to the fossil. The toy is about 2\" x 2\". The toy is new and still in itsoriginal packaging. The toy is a Jurassic World Dominion Triceratops Micro Collection by Mattel.

This toy is not suitable for children under three years old.

Triceratops, (genusTriceratops), large quadrupedal plant-eatingceratopsiandinosaur that had a frill of bone at the back of its skull and three prominenthorns.Fossilsof “three-horned face,” as its Latin name is usually translated, date to the final 3 million years of theCretaceous Period(145.5 million to 65.5 million years ago), making it one of the last of the non-avian dinosaurs to have evolved. Paleontologists estimate that the body length ofTriceratopsapproached 9 meters (30 feet). The largest adults are thought to have weighed 5,450–7,260 kg (approximately 12,000–16,000 pounds).

Triceratopspossessed a giganticskull, and some individuals had skulls nearly 3 meters (about 10 feet) long, which would place them among the largest of all terrestrialanimals. In addition to its threeconspicuoushorns, which were placed above each eye and on the snout, it possessed numerous small spikes (epoccipitals) that bordered the margin of the expanded frill of bone at the back of the skull. There were as many as 19–26 epoccipitals on the frill.Triceratopsalso possessed smaller hornlike projections on the jugal bones (cheekbones). The upper and lower jaws were lined with stacked columns ofteeth, which appear to have been specialized for shearing. The front of the mouth formed abeak, which may have been used to crop vegetation.
