Tower Isle was the first resort on the north coast of Jamaica built in the late 1940\'s. The resort was built by a son (Abraham Issa) of an Arab family that had moved from Jerusalem in the late 19th century to Jamaica. The family is a Jamaican Horatio Alger saga. Issa started in the in the hotel business when he and his family purchased the Myrtle Bank Hotel in Kingston from the United Fruit Co in 1943 The building of Tower Isle not only helped establish the modern tourism industry in Jamaica but the entire region.
