Thisfabulous find is signed L.C.T, which are the initials for Louis ComfortTiffany circa1890!
Favrile glass is a type of iridescent art glass developed by Louis C. Tiffany. He patented this process in 1894 and first produced the glass for manufacturing in 1896 in Queens, New York. He called his new techniqueFavrile,after the old English word "fabrile"which means handmade or hand crafted.
This wine glass is 6-1/2" tall, 3-3/8" in diameter at the mouth and 3" in diameter at the base and weighs: 4.9 grams.
There are 2 air bubbles at thebase, you can feel them with your finger, butthey are in the glass.
It is signed L.C.T and numbered L1628.
The color of this wine glass are of gold,marigold with hue of purples pinks greens and blue with an opaline hue on the inside bowl.The base is textured, the stem is twisted and the bowl issmooth.
