Presented for the consideration of the public is some of the more unique items to come through my collection, sold as one lot: The personal effects of Lorenz Von Stein. Included in this lot are three items, including Lorenz Von Stein\'s personal travel papers with photo, the Von Stein patent of nobility, and the Von Stein family seal. These were purchased from estate sale in 2018. You will receiveall three items, including the family Von Stein\'s patents of nobility, the 14k gold family wax seal ring, and Von Stein\'s personal travel identification. These are original historical items of a famous German socialist and will be packaged with extreme care.

Von Stein is regarded as the \"father of the welfare\" state and an intellectual predecessorto Marx. AHegelian liberal, Von Stein\'s works influenced American progressivism. Scandinavianborn, but an German and Austrian national, Von Stein wrote several now famous works studied across the world between 1946 to 1889.

Further descriptions are given below to the best of my ability.

Lorenz Identification: Lorenz Von Stein\'s travel identification is in very praiseworthy condition. The wallet is in dark leather embossed on the front with a seal and the words \"K.K.O. St. B.\" \"Amtliche Legitimation 1887\" The inside left panel features a photo of Von Stein that is unmistakably the historical figure who is given credit for coining terms like \"class warfare\" and influenced heavily both public administration and social sciences. There is a tear at the bottom of the photo. near the tear, the photo is stamped with a seal and the following words \"K.K.N.O. Statthalterie-Praesidium\".

The second panel introduces the purpose and legitimacy of the document with the following: \"Amtliche Legitimation\" \"giltig bis 31 Dezember 1884 womit Herr Dr Lorenz Ritter von Stein Diensteigenschaft (unreadable) aud Grund des Handelsministerial-Erlasses vom 20. Mai 1885 Nr. 127/H.M. E. berechtigt wird, zu Fahrten auf\" \"der k.k. osterr. Staatsbahneb fur seine eigene Person Fahrkarten fur alle fahrplanmassigen Zuge zu um 50% ermassigtem Preise zu losen.\" \"Wien en 17 February 1884\" \"Unterschift des Vostandes der obersten. k.k. Centralstelle oder der k.k. Landesbehorde.\" This is followed by the signature authority and \"Eigenhandige Unterschift des Inhabers:\" The back of smooth and in great shape but I did not include this picture due to the limit on photos. The Family Seal:This is a wax-press seal ring with the Von Stein Family Crest on it. Interior is marked \"R.H\" \"585\" and is 14k gold. Weighs 7.93 grams total weight. This item is in brilliant shape, likely never worn as as a piece of jewelry, rather than used as a deal. Ring size is 9 1/2, US.

Patent of Nobility: The patent of nobility is lined in purple velvet. It measures 14.75 inches by 11 inches. A golden double headed eagle adorns the front, holding a sword in one claw and a religious symbol with an iron cross in the other. Page one depicts a figure on a throne with the same symbol and the following: \"WIR FRANZ JOSEPH DERERSTE VON COTTESCNADEN KAISER VON OESTERREICH\".

Pages 6 and 7 are similar and include several signatures (see pictures) including that of Dr. Carl Giskra,Interior Minister of Cisleithania in the latter 1800s.

Patent: Attached to the Documentation is an encased seal with the family crest inside in high detail, almost mint condition. Material appears be cast from red clay, and is very high relief with no observable cracks or breaks. The case is golden, unknown metallic material and attacked to a golden cord, which is draped over inside the book. The cord, case, and interior are all in pretty fantastic shape.
