This real photo postcard is a fascinating glimpse into British history from the intersection of King William and Arthur Streets in the City of London. Not only does it feature 'The Monument' a famous landmark just north of London Bridge, erected to commemorate the location of 'The Great Fire of London' (1660) but it also features the building on the right which was the entrance to the King William St. underground Tube Station est. 1890. The station sadly was deemed unfit for purpose as the network grew and was abandoned less than 10 years after first put into operation. Also pictured is business signage, establishments and pedestrians in this street scene. The postcard is used without postage and in excellent, like new condition. It is standard postcard size, has a divided back and white border.
