TWO Libbey GOLDEN FOLIAGE Sherbet Champagne Coupe Glass Stem 3003 Mad Men MCM:

This is for a set of two of the LIbbey Golden Foliage tall champagne (or sherbert if you are a kid) stemmed glasses. They are coupe glasses in style, not flutes. This iconic mid-century pattern was produced from 1953-1978 and, if you are a Mad Men fan, was indeed the glassware used in the Draper residence! Golden Foliage was imitated by two many companies to count, including Starlyte who was notorious for copying other companies\' successful patterns. Are these Starlyte or Libbey? Well, the bottom is not marked with the cursive \"L\" like some of my Golden Foliage pieces. But the stem style matches what Replacements LTD assigns to Libbey\'s product. Those that site is not ALWAYS correct. Anyway, these look like the Libbey quality and design, plus I found them pictured in the 1965 Libbey catalog and they appear to be a match. Golden Foliage appears in most of the Libbey catalogs I have, but they didn\'t usually picture the champagne glasses for some reason! Measure 4 1/4\" tall and about 3 1/2\" in upper diameter. Be sure this is the type of glass you are looking for. I see some listings where the glass is called a champagne glass but is probably the shorter \"Liquor Cocktail\" glass. Look carefully at people\'s photos. No cracks, no chips. Gold design on the frosted sides looks very good with no scrapes or blemishes. This part of the glass appears in better than usual vintage condition, but stemmed glasses can fare better with use because people\'s fingers aren\'t touching the design. I only know these glasses saw some use because the upper gold rim is worn on both. Gold is shiny and tends to obscure worn areas to a degree in some lighting. I will get photos of the rims as well as the sides so you can see the condition. These are glasses you won\'t be afraid to use--or suitable for display if that is the route you go with mid-century modern glassware. Really lovely pieces and a great size and shape for cocktails typically served in coupe glasses such as a Lion\'s Tale. I have SO MUCH Golden Foliage and SIlver Foliage at the moment. I buy it when I see it because it is such an iconic style, and try to build sets to sell. If you are looking for other pieces, let me know. I have some ice buckets, juice glasses, cruets (these are on Anchor Hocking blanks so might be Starlyte, a punch bowl (Starlyte) and more in both gold and silver.
