The interior of the station, which was set at a lower level than the booking hall, was as impressive as the exterior with extensive use of glazed bricks, and terracotta This is seen clearly in this view around 1910 which shows how airy and open the station was, with its great roof by the Horseley Co. towering 40ft above the platforms.
