Jefferson" and countersignedby the Secretary of State, "JamesMadison". Folio, [approximately 11 x 16 inches] onvellum, with embossedpaper wafer Seal of State of the UnitedStates affixed at lower left.May 13, 1808. Overall fine condition, with Jefferson's final letters in his signature, slightly light.Madison's signature is also light, but each signature is legible.
The document is matted and framed in a simple, vintage wood frame, as shown in illustrations, and most likely has been this way for 50+ years.
