ORIGIN OF APOCALYPSE (En Sabah Nur)In its last minutes, the tenth of final episode of X-MEN \'97\'s first season sees the explosive climax of the X-Men\'s fight against BASTION -- and explosion which, it seems, separates the team\'s members and transports them to varying locations across time and space. Where they land will begin different narrative threads when the show\'s second Season picks up, and as in the original Marvel comics source material, the disparate storylines will eventually converge to reunite the team in a battle against APOCALYPSE.
While X-Men team leaders CYCLOPS and JEAN GREY a.k.a. MARVEL GIRL find themselves in a desolate and unrecognizable future, and FORGE and BISHOP remain in the present, the majority of the team, including MAGNETO, NIGHTCRAWLER, ROGUE, BEAST and CHARLES XAVIER find themselves clearly transported to the distant past -- to ancient EGYPT, identifiable by the pyramid structures in the distance. Their presence, of course, is detected and the X-Men are attacked by local warriors, one of whom they corral. He identifies himself as EN SABAH NUR...the future Apocalypse.
This latter team of X-MEN will no doubt become availed, along with the viewer, to the history, to the ORIGIN, of APOCALYPSE.
