Up for sale is a copy of a HISTORIC Newspaper titled the "BALTIMORE WEEKLY SUN" from Saturday Morning, Dec. 19, 1857. Vol. XX, No. 40. Published by A. S. Abell & Co.
It is a double sheet newspaper measuring approximately 23 1/2" x 17" when closed. It has 2 pages with articles on the front and the back, to equal 4 total pages.
The paper covers foreign and domestic historical news from 1857. It includes public notices, death notices, marriages, a for sale section, advertisements, and much, much more!
The paper is in Acceptable condition. The paper is torn in many place and the 2 sheets are only barely still attached to each other. There is wear , stains and browning to the paper and there are many creases and tears. There are a few tears and holes in many places that make parts of the paper hard to read. The paper also suffers from some foxing and there are dampstains, as well. The paper is very "delicate".
This is an incredible chance to read a historic paper, on the original day it was reported! A great opportunity for any collector or history buff to own a true piece of American history!
