This listing is for a beautiful hardcover book titled Texas & Pacific - A Color Pictorial. The book is crammed full of color photographs dealing with the Texas & Pacific railroad. I am going to guess and say there are over 300 color photos in this book. There are pictures of what is probably close to every depot on the line in both Louisiana and Texas, photos of passenger and freight rolling stock and of course, the locomotives. I think they probably searched the archives for color photos of every T&P locomotive as far back as the 1950s. You can see every paint scheme of the locomotives and the passenger cars, even some freight cars and cabooses.

If you are a model railroader who likes the T&P, this book is a godsend. There are even photos of the 2-10-4 Steam Locomotive from when it was chosen to pull the Bicentennial Freedom Train across parts of Texas. I counted two pages that don't have a photograph on them and maybe a half dozen B&W photographs of locomotives prior to 1955. There are also reference charts, photos 0of advertising pieces and other bits and pieces.

I believe the book is a first edition as there is no mention of previous printings. This volume must have been a true labor of love for Mr Goen. This copy of the book is in near mint condition. I would say mint condition except there are two nearly invisible but heavier feeling scratches that can be felt on the back cover. Other than those scratches I would say mint condition. There are no marks, writing, stains, dirt, fingerprints, tears, creases, or dog-ears inside. You are going to love to add this to your library.
