This is the original 1976 tabloid-sized treasury edition, Superman vs the Amazing Spider-Man. This comic was co-published by DC Comics and the Marvel Comics Group, and was the first time any Marvel and DC characters crossed over into the same story. The cover is from a layout by Carmine Infantino, with Ross Andru penciling and Dick Giordano inking. Here and elsewhere, Neal Adams touched up the Superman figure. Interior artwork is also by Andru & Giordano, with Adams\' touch-ups of Superman and John Romita touch-ups of Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and some of the additional Spidey supporting cast members. Gerry Conway scripted this extra-length story.

This comic is complete in Very Good condition. Both staples are intact, free from rust, and holding all pages and covers firmly in place. At the time of original printing, the cover was glued to the square-bound interior pages, and the cover is still glued in place. There is no water damage. No spine roll. The spine is split 1/4 inch at the bottom. The upper left-hand corner damage noted below I am not counting as a separate spine split.

Here are the additional defects keeping this comic out of higher grade:

The upper left-hand corner of the front cover is damaged, see the photo detail.
The cardboard covers have numerous stress lines breaking color, as seen on the front and back cover pictures. See for example the stress line running through Superman\'s scalp.
There are some stray red ink lines on the front cover, see Superman\'s left hand and the letters S & P in the Spider-Man logo.
The inside covers and interior pages are tanned, as seen on the photo of the inside front cover opposite the splash page.
